Welcome !

Welcome to my Blog Space on the Internet!

I have created this in the hopes of engaging thoughtful and thought provoking people and their ideas. The idea of maintaining a blog seems to be a natural consequence of my interest in the world of cyberspace.

I have a personal website and a number of memberships in online communities, but this seems like what I really wanted to get to from the beginning. I wanted a forum to engage people in conversation on as diverse a range of topics as possible. I also wanted to shamelessly promote myself and my writings and somewhere along the way I figured a blog would be the best way to do it. So you will see links and tags from time to time directing you to my works and to associates I choose to promote. (I have a number of business associates; including a son in construction, and friends who own some companies I do odd jobs for that I will promote too.)

So here I am ready to have you dive in and join you in everything from heated political discussion, to sharing your poetry and stories. However what I want to do most of all is to engage you, share with you, and in the end maybe we can learn something from one another.

While I am strongly opinionated, and consider myself hard-headed I welcome the challenge of those whose philosophical views may not always agree with mine. My only condition is that no matter how passionately you feel, that you maintain civility. While that generally means in most blogs no fowl language; in this one it means that plus: Don't make it personal! It's okay to attack a person's logic, ideas, and conclusions; but personal attacks will not be tolerated and will lead to suspension from this site!

Once again -- Welcome: The Smiling Reaper Awaits You!

I applaud your profanity restriction. I wish more sites would do that.

You mention you are strongly opinionated. Perhaps a summary of those strong opinions would be helpful. Conservative? Democrat? Love Hillary? Gun-toter? There's lots to talk about.

Hi Charles,

Off to a good start. I like the family friendly aspect. Let me know when new posts go up. Or post it on one of our networks.

I am sorry to have been so negligent. I could give a million excuses, and only one good reason. I 've been busy working in New Orleans with a number of development projects.

Primarily I have been working with The Washington Avenue Community Center. (www.washingtonavecommunitycenter.org).

Some of the projects I've been working on involve redevelopment of housing, but that is not all that I'm doing. There are a number of businesses that are in need of assistance, and the Center acts a resource to their efforts. The Center helps business access government programs, assist in business planning, and help them with the "paperwork" that inhibits many small business people from action.

Like I said, I've been busy!

Special to Jack:

I am an unabased unashamed Liberal! I believe that most democratic progress this nation has made has come as the result of liberal political policies.
I have spent the last thirty years observing the systematic dismantling of Roosevelt's New Deal by neo-conservatives who have been selling the country on the false notion that the federal government offers no solution to the people's problems.
I am a Democrat; Hillary's okay, but Barack is better; I believe in the 2nd Amendment but know we need protection from the illogical, insane, belief that putting any controls on guns is somehow un-American, threathening and more important than the general saftey and security of the majority.

To Audrey:

I'm sorry that I missed your entry and have not been online lately. Please forgive my absence and my please visit me often here on my site.
